Tribute to Clare, 1967 - 2026

It’s incredible the amount of lives she touched and changed regardless of how long she had known you. Such a strong and fierce woman, it was a privilege to be part of her journey. I will remember Clare fondly, especially on my many visits to Dartmouth.

I was at Codsall High School with Clare and we also kept our ponies together at Heath House Farm . All my memories of Clare are of her smiling and happy . She was also always very capable and calm . We lost touch in later years but I heard updates through Lorraine. I know Clare will be very much missed - sending my love and thoughts to her family and friends xxx

I only got to start knowing Clare and rich back in January through Lou and I’m so incredibly grateful that I did, Clare you was truly one of a kind caring, thoughtful and so incredibly strong throughout. I wish i had got to know you longer but so lucky that I had the chance sleep tight beautiful ❤️

Clare was an absolute warrior in every sense of the word. Willing to trial anything, driven, focused, kind and empathic, always supporting members of the ALS community. She was always the first to share her story, her history, her test results. Anything to help others. She is the reason that MND/ALS is my specialism. She is the reason I’m on the Healing ALS medical advisory committee. She is the reason I campaign for patients’ rights. She was more than a client.She was a dear friend, a partner in crime on this journey and an inspiration. There is now a Clare sized hole in my Friday afternoon that will stay forever.

I had the honour and privilege of knowing and working with Clare for over 20 years; and during that time calling her a friend. Her honest, straight talking and organised way of walking through life was refreshing. She was inspirational to all who met and knew her x

Clare worked with me many years ago as my PA and in business development, and I can honestly say she made my life so much easier. She had that rare gift of being incredibly organised and efficient while always remaining calm, kind and thoughtful. Nothing ever seemed too much trouble, and she had an uncanny ability to see the simplest solution to even the most complicated problems. One phrase she introduced me to has stayed with me ever since: “Fit for purpose.” It became much more than just a saying - it was Clare’s way of looking at the world. She had an amazing knack for cutting through the unnecessary and gently steering people towards what really mattered. Looking back, some of the best decisions I made in business were influenced by my conversations with Clare. She was one of those people who quietly left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her. Intelligent, caring, funny, and always generous with her time and advice. Thank you, Clare, for everything you taught me, for your friendship, and for making such a positive difference to my life. You will be remembered with great affection and gratitude.

Clare, we will always cherish the wonderful times we shared with you. Your kindness, warmth, laughter and caring nature brought joy to our lives. Thank you for your friendship and the happy memories you gave us. You will be deeply missed and forever remembered with love.

Many lovely times spent with Aunty Clare. Always a very funny and enthusiastic person who loved to make sure everyone was happy. You will be missed very much and are loved by us all so much.
